All Souls and Remembrance

Autumn is a season for remembering those who have died - those we knew and loved - and those who died in war.

All Souls' Prayer Time 1st November in the Main Church

On Sunday, 1st November, from 3 - 4 pm, St Mary's will be holding a time of individual prayer and candle lighting in remembrance of loved ones for people from this parish whom we have cared for during their time of bereavement and funerals.

This opportunity is by booking only. Please contact Reader Chris Barnsley on 0121 382 2538 if you would like to attend the All Souls' event.

Sunday, 8th November - Remembrance Day - 10.40 am

At St Mary's, we conduct a service of remembrance for loved ones who have died in service of their country. This is held outside at the cenotaph at the front doors to the Main Church, in St Mary's Close. At this annual service, uniform groups, British Legion members, civic leaders and members of the public gather for a short service. The Reverend Trev Meardon will be conducting this outdoor service. It begins at 10.40 am. In light of current Covid restrictions, you may stand in your bubble together (maximum 6 – except for those in support bubbles), but please observe the 2 metre social distance rule between other groups or individuals. If you wish to lay remembrance wreathes or poppy crosses at the cenotaph, please do this after the service as you leave, while maintaining distance from others.
